Gilmour Boys Basketball is one of the most recognized winter sports around the school and the varsity level is not disappointing this year. The Lancers are 7-6 with a winning record so far earning a huge win over Holy Name last Friday. They are coached by Mr. Dan DeCrane. He is in his second year after coming off an NCL division championship last year.
Associate Director of Athletics Ms. Kristy Booher said, “I think one thing that is always consistent is you never look at them and say they don’t hustle. They always out-hustle their opponents and I am always impressed by that. They win on hustle 100% of the time.”
Connor O’Toole (’20) is known by the team as a great shooter. Ben Demell (’21) offers what teammates call “a huge threat” in the inside game. Andre Rogers (’21) with exceptional assists and passes. Brandon Rose (’23) is becoming known for making a big impact in games.
Varsity A Boys Hockey is currently 18-4-2 and are coached by Mr. John Malloy where he has been here for over 10 years. Coach Malloy has also just been inducted into the Greater Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame and been awarded for the most wins by a high school hockey coach in Ohio.
Ms. Booher said, “This is one of the strongest varsity teams we have ever had. Just at every position, every line, you have great players coming in and this is going to be a special season. I want to go to Columbus, and I think they will.”
