Volleyball Competes in State Semifinals


On November 2, in the OHSAA Division II Regional Finals, Gilmour Academy Girls Varsity Volleyball team defeated Canfield High School and became the State Final Four.

The team is competing in the OHSAA Division II State Semifinals on today, November 7, in Wright State University Nutter Center at 6 P.M. against Bishop Fenwick High School.

The Volleyball team is all smiles after the student body celebrated their state run with applause in Our Lady Chapel.

Gilmour Girls Volleyball has a record of 21-6 and is ranked 10th in the state while Bishop Fenwick High School has a record of 26-1 and is ranked 12th in the state.

The Athletic Department is offering students in grades 9-12 a Lakefront Lines charter fan bus to the game today that departs from Pender Circle at 1:30 P.M. and returns at midnight.

Students who cannot make the trip to Dayton to support the Lancers in person can join the official LancerNation Watch Party at 6 P.M. tonight, November 7, in the Athletic Center lobby. It is free and open to all Lancers past, present, and future. Students interested need to fill out a form here.

Students unable to take the fan bus or attend the watch party can go online and watch the game on livestream.

Lejun (Angela) Liu was born on January 22, 2002 in Beijing, In 2016, Angela was admitted to Gilmour Academy as a Freshman. In Angela’s sophomore year at Gilmour, she found herself interested in journalism and media.
